Reds go marching clear
 Women's Football News 23 Nov 2009

Liverpool opened up a commanding lead of eight points at the top of the Northern Division with a 2-0 win away to Luton Town.

Prolific strike duo Kelly Jones and Cheryl Foster netted the goals to give the Reds their eleventh straight victory of the season (see match report).

Manchester City were unable to take an opportunity to go into second place after they shared a 1-1 draw with Leeds City Vixens. Indeed the Yorkshire side had looked to be on their way to victory after Stacey Daniel had put them ahead early in the second half, but an injury time equaliser from Danielle Young rescued a point for City.

OOH Lincoln picked up an important 2-1 victory over Aston Villa to keep their hopes alive. Carla Ward and Patricia Toledo had put the Lady Imps two goals ahead with Dani Petrovic netting Villa's goal shortly before half time.
