Sunderland moved into second place in the National Division table, level on points with leaders Leeds Carnegie, after winning 2-1 away to Millwall Lionesses. Kelly McDougall put the Wearsiders ahead three minutes before half time and they extended their lead just before the hour mark through a header from captain Steph Bannon. Ann Marie Heatherson gave Millwall hope when she pulled a goal back but Sunderland held out for three valuable points against the side promoted with them at the end of last season. Watford would have gone back to the top of the table with a victory but instead have to settle for third place after they ground out a 0-0 draw with Doncaster Rovers Belles.
