England opened up their UEFA Under-17 Championship qualifying group with a convincing 7-0 victory over Belarus. Meanwhile in the group's other game, Wales battled out a 1-1 draw against hosts FYR Macedonia. England got off to a perfect start by netting twice in the opening five minutes through Nakita Parris and Danielle Carter. Lara Fay added a third just before the half hour and Alex Greenwood also found the net on the stroke of half time. After the break, Elizabeth Ince got on the scoresheet before Kirsty Linnett and Katie Wilkinson rounded off the scoring. Wales started well in their game and took the lead four minutes before half time with a goal from Megan Wynne. However their hopes of victory were dashed with eleven minutes remaining as they were pegged back by an equaliser from Natasa Andonova. The next round of matches is on Wednesday when England take on Macedonia and Wales face Belarus.
