Manchester City are pleased to announce the appointment of Luke Swindlehurst as assistant to First Team Coach Leigh Wood. Luke, originally form Barrow-in-Furness and now living in Bolton, joins the City managerial set up as a Level 2 coach who is currently studying for his B licence. Luke, who is actually a Man United fan and currently works as a Coach at the Man United Soccer Skills School, had no hesitation in joining City and is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. Luke made an immediate and impressive impact with the City girls and was on the sidelines as City triumphed 2-0 at Derby last weekend. He stated: "I have been very impressed with the technical ability and enthusiasm of the girls and see City as a stepping stone and valuable learning curve in my own development as a Coach. I am looking forward to working with Leigh and the rest of the City coaching set up, especially as I see it as an excellent opportunity to help develop the younger players, whose average age is around 19, help realise the tremendous potential that City possess within the Club and build a side that will challenge for honours for years to come."
