![]() City took one step closer towards retaining the trophy as they defeated Celtic 4-2. Jane Ross gave them a tenth minute lead as she cut in from the right to plant a low left foot shot into the bottom corner and they were two ahead shortly afterwards, Suzanne Malone dispossessing Karen Penglase before firing home past Gemma Fay. Celtic reduced the arrears when Suzanne Grant slotted in from close range but City made it 3-1 through a looping header from Suzanne Lappin. An entertaining first half came to a close with Celtic once again getting themselves back into the game, Grant netting her second goal. However any hopes of a Celtic revival were ended ten minutes into the second half as Malone was brought down in the area by Fay, who was shown a red card. Khym Ramsey took over between the posts but was unable to prevent Leanne Ross from restoring the two-goal advantage from the resulting penalty. Hibernian meanwhile are one step away from winning back the Cup after they booked their place in the Final by beating Rangers 5-1 (details to follow). One match was played in the league, Hamilton Academicals lifting themselves into fifth place in the table with a 4-2 victory away to Boroughmuir Thistle.
