Arsenal have all but booked their place in the last sixteen of the UEFA Women's Champions League after thrashing PAOK 9-0 in the first leg of their First Round tie. However Everton have been left with a mountain to climb after going down 3-0 away to Norwegian Champions Roa IL. Rachel Yankey gave Arsenal a flying start in Thessalonika by putting them in front after eight minutes and Kim Little bagged a first half hat-trick before Helen Lander added the fifth goal just before half time. Lander scored her second shortly after the hour mark and Yankey also completed her double before the Gunners sealed the win with late goals from Jayne Ludlow and a fourth from Little. Everton fell behind on the quarter hour to a goal from Elise Thorsnes and Marie Knutsen added a second five minutes before the break. Emilie Haavi also found the net midway through the second half to leave the Toffees with a huge task in the second leg at Marine next Wednesday.
