Southern Division leaders Barnet went three points clear with a 2-1 win away to Crystal Palace.
Cheryl Williams bagged both goals for the Bees, with Palace replying through a strike from Laura East.
Portsmouth are up into second place following their 4-2 success at Queen's Park Rangers. Cassie Thorp gave them an early lead with Seun Odeniyi and Simone Dwyer netting in quick succession for Rangers, but Pompey were back in front by the interval thanks to Justine Lorton and Thorp's second. Lauren Murphy sealed the points for Portsmouth with the fourth goal, midway through the second half.
Reading FC Women suffered a setback when going down 3-1 at home to West Ham Utd, who are starting to find their best form. Holly Griffin scored twice and Gemma Shepherd the other for the Hammers who are still unbeaten and in fifth place.
Colchester Utd climbed into fourth by running out 3-0 winners over WFC Fulham. Karissa Rodney opened the scoring for the U's with Helen Bass adding the other two goals, either side of half time.
Keynsham Town came from behind to win 2-1 away to Charlton Athletic and keep themselves in touch with the leading sides. Ciara Sherwood gave the Addicks a 19th minute lead but Keynsham were back on terms midway through the second half through Hari Sabic. Ashley Reinecke then gave the Somerset side all three points with a long range strike, seven minutes from time.
