Manchester City continue to lead the way in the Northern Division following their 1-0 win away to newly promoted Luton Town. Krystle Johnson scored the only goal of the game in injury time to earn City their second victory in successive matches. Aston Villa are in second place after they battled out a 1-1 draw away to Sheffield Wednesday. Villa had the better of the first half and took the lead through a header from Jade Formaston while Hayley Sharp cleared off the line from Villa captain Kelly Saggs and Wednesday keeper Danni Maslin made an outstanding save to keep her side in the game. Wednesday came on strongly after the break and Tanya Rich levelled soon after the interval. Wednesday could have snatched all three points late on but Sarah Danby was denied by a fine save from Nicola Kuch. Leeds City Vixens registered their first ever Premier League victory in some style, 3-0 against Preston North End. Stacey Daniel opened the scoring in the 16th minute and the lead was doubled on the hour by Emily Maguire. Tennisha Watson-Phillips completed the win with the final goal in injury time.
