Millwall Lionesses are the new leaders of the National Division after they won 4-2 away to Blackburn Rovers.
Lindsay Morgan sent the newly promoted Lionesses into an early lead which was quickly cancelled out by Danielle Sheen for the home side. The scores remained level at the break with Charlotte Gurr putting Millwall back in front two minutes after the restart, but once again Blackburn replied quickly through a penalty from Katie Anderton.
The penalty struck a double blow for Millwall as goalkeeper Claire Lacey suffered a dislocated finger as she attempted to save Anderton's effort. However this did not deter Millwall and they went on to secure their second successive win thanks to two goals from Leah Jones, the second of which was from the penalty spot.
Birmingham City had started the day on top of the table but needed their full powers of recovery to fight back from two goals down at half time to draw 2-2 with Nottingham Forest. Beth Bailey put Forest ahead after ten minutes and the advantage was quickly doubled by Paxton Johnson.
After the break, Kerry Bartlett renewed the Blues' hopes by pulling a goal back and Dannii Bird completed the comeback on the hour mark by scoring a penalty to earn her side a point.
Watford bounced back from their opening day defeat at Birmingham to notch up a 2-1 win against Sunderland.
Lizzie Edwards gave Sian Williams' side a first half lead from the penalty spot and Annie Barrett added the second just after the hour from a setpiece. Eight minutes from time, Jordan Nobbs pulled a goal back for the Wearsiders via a 20-yard strike but Watford held on to take their first three points of the season.
