Sheffield Wednesday have continued their busy summer by making their second double swoop in a week. Shelly Donohoe returns to the Owls to complete the striking options for manager Dan Duke. Donohoe had been with Wednesday for three years but spent last term at Sheffield United where she was instrumental in helping the Owls' local rivals to promotion by finishing top goalscorer with her time at the Blades. Hayley Sharpe is the fourth signing for Duke from his hit list this year, she joins from Leeds Carnegie and is a young central defender with a lot of quality. "I have spoken to a lot of players during this off period as I want to strenghen my squad to challenge for the top spots this year," said Duke. "Most the players on my extensive hit list are young players who have proven quality and good pedigree but are still hungry to learn. "They all have to have certain traits to fit in with the club's development plan and I am delighted with the players that we have managed to secure signatures from as they all fit in perfectly with what we are all working towards. "I still have two or three girls I am desparate to bring in which will give me very good options in all positions and brilliant compertition for shirts this year."
