Dudley capture young trio
 Women's Football News 14 Jun 2009

Dudley capture young trio - 14 Jun 2009 - Women's Football NewsDudley United are pleased to announce three more summer signings, all girls coming out of Aston Villa FC Centre of Excellence Under-16 squad.

16-year-olds Joanne Smith, Joanne Houghton and Kayleigh Griffiths played under new Dudley manager Andy Mulligan at Aston Villa for a number of years and they will join new signing Donna Arrowsmith in a quest for promotion this season in the West Midlands League.

Andy Mulligan said: "I am so happy to be working with the girls again, they are excellent prospects for the future. I feel their move here will help us move closer to our goals for next season.

"The girls want to play first team football and know that we will give them that opportunity. I feel they will learn a lot from starting at this level and this will give them the foundation for ladies football.

"The long term plan for us is to move up the leagues and we need young players that are prepared to do this with us. I still feel we need a couple more players to add to the quality we have here, top of our list is a new goalkeeper."
