![]() Rangers 0 Suzanne Lappin and Leanne Ross each scored doubles as Glasgow City completed the second leg of a possible 'treble' with a convincing win over Rangers in the Unite Scottish Cup Final at the Forthbank Stadium. City were quickly out of the blocks and sought an early strike with Leanne Ross going close, her shot hitting the side netting. The same player forced a good save from Kate Lagan whilst Ruadh Houston cleared a shot off the line and Suzanne Lappin hit the post. Lappin almost gave City the lead after a corner was cleared back to Katharina Lindner who returned the ball into the area for Lappin to power a header against the bar. However in the 25th minute, the powerful midfielder found a way through to give City the lead. Megan Sneddon clipped the ball into the area for Lappin who controlled and turned before planting her shot beyond Lagan and into the corner of the net. Barely a minute later and the lead was doubled, this time Emma Fernon curled a delightful left foot pass into the path of Leanne Ross who took one touch before slotting the ball home. City continued to dictate matters at the start of the second half with Lindner heading just wide following a long throw from Sneddon who also tested Lagan with a 25-yard shot. A Rangers breakaway almost let in Natasha Anderson but Laura Williamson was quick off her line to clear, Claire Rae tried to lob home from 40 yards but her effort was off target. The third goal arrived with seventeen minutes left on the clock. Lindner was again involved, making a good run down the left before cutting the ball back for Leanne Ross to score her second with a shot that went in off the inside of the post. Lagan made an excellent save to touch a 20-yard strike from Ruesha Littlejohn onto the post but the winger was able to set up a goal moments later, getting past Houston before sliding the ball through for substitute Jane Brown to steer home from ten yards. City rounded off the win as the game went into injury time, Lindner finding Littlejohn in space on the right and she crossed for Lappin to thump a header past Lagan to complete her double.
