![]() There was no hangover for the Wearsiders from their F.A.Women's Cup Final defeat to Arsenal; instead they took a second minute lead through Jordan Nobbs and Kelly McDougall quickly doubled their lead on the quarter hour. Vicki Greenwell then sent Sunderland three ahead shortly before half time. After the break, Remi Allen reduced the arrears for Leicester but, despite losing goalkeeper Helen Alderson with a knee injury, Sunderland went on to seal the victory in the dying minutes through Lucy Bronze. Sunderland's final game of the season will be away to Preston North End who will approach the match in good form after beating Newcastle Utd 5-2. Sarah Berry and Sarah Walker each netted first half doubles to put the Lancashire side four goals in front at the interval and, although Melanie Reay bagged a double to give Newcastle some hope, Walker completed her hat-trick to give Preston one of their best league results of the season. The result means that Manchester City will finish in third place, their highest ever position. In the Southern Division, Crystal Palace produced a four-goal second half blast to run out 5-1 winners over Keynsham Town. Sharla Longville netted the only goal of the first half for Palace and, although Hari Sabic levelled the scores for the home side just before the hour, Palace went straight back in front through a penalty from Beth Curtis who went on to score a 12-minute hat-trick. Jade McDermott wrapped up the win with the fifth goal, ten minutes from time.
