With their two title rivals not playing on Sunday, Celtic took the opportunity to step up their challenge in the Scottish Women's Premier League by beating Dundee Utd SC 7-2. The result means that Celtic go level on top with leaders Glasgow City having played the same number of matches while Spartans, who have a game in hand, are two points behind. Forfar Farmington meanwhile return into fifth place, thanks to a 2-0 victory against Raith Rovers who remain rooted to the bottom and are now six points adrift. Boroughmuir Thistle now appear to be safe in their first season in the league and could yet finish in the top half of the table, after they ran out 3-1 winners over Hamilton Academicals. FC Kilmarnock claimed an important 2-0 success away to Aberdeen to put ground between themselves and Raith.
