Keynsham Town's injury crisis worsened even further when they were dealt further blows during their 4-2 victory by West Ham Utd on Sunday.
Influential midfielder and captain, Ana Bruni, suffered a serious injury when two opponents fell upon her during a goalmouth tussle. The Brazilian sustained broken ribs and severe pressure to the lungs, which will keep her out for the rest of the season.
With both the club's goalkeepers injured, they were forced to field central defender Tanja Andjelkovic in goal as well as half fit players Ro Newton and Frankie Stone while Luciana Silva, one of the players on the injury list, was needed to play as an emergency substitute following the departure of the stricken Bruni.
The situation had already become worse when, in the opening minutes, Andjelkovic pulled her existing ligament injury and became almost immobile from that time.
Keynsham manager Barrie Newton said after the game: "Our players showed great team spirit and application in tis game against all the odds. West Ham are a very strong side, especially on the counter attack. We went into the game with 11 players injured and came out with 12 and those injured players that stood up to play for the club today have probably put their recovery back some time.
"I have never known such an injury crisis in the 15 years I have been at the club. We will seriously struggle to field a First and Reserve team at Portsmouth next Sunday and then have another tough game home to league leaders, Millwall the following week. Sandwiched between these is a County Cup Final on the Thursday night, but at least we only have to put out one side that day."
