![]() Totnes had only been reinstated into the competition five days earlier, after Plymouth Argyle Res had fielded an ineligible player in their semi final victory. The Devon side kept matters tight against a lively Weymouth side during the opening stages, the only effort on goal coming from a Rosie Sharpe shot which was saved by Kate Binmore. Sharpe was again to come close as she was found in the area by Natalie Batchelor and took the ball round Binmore but the angle was too acute and her shot went across the face of goal. Totnes continued to defend well but were breached in the 21st minute and it was no surprise that it was Sharpe who opened the scoring. Georgia Rogers slid a neat pass into the path of the striker who produced a clinical finish past the advancing Binmore to send her side in front. Totnes were almost back on level terms on the half hour as an awkward cross by Nicola Brister was palmed away from under the bar by Fliss Carroll under pressure from Justine Howarth. However the pattern of the game continued with Weymouth pressing forwards but Totnes stood firm with central defenders Sammie Platts and Sarah Smith working furiously to help keep their side in the game. Weymouth forced a series of corners and, despite some excellent deliveries from Batchelor, were unable to get in any telling efforts on goal. Kim Cheffey headed over from a Batchelor free kick but Totnes held out to keep their deficit at one goal going into the break. The start of the second half saw Totnes show more as an attacking force but it was Weymouth who struck a telling blow in the 56th minute. Batchelor was again the creator, her pass releasing Jess Turk on goal and the winger showed good composure in planting her shot past Binmore and into the far corner. Weymouth sought further goals but again Totnes battled very hard, Binmore making a save from Sharpe whose shot from the rebound was blocked on the line by Platts. Turk fired wide after being put through by Naomi Smith and Binmore again saved from Sharpe following Smith's cross. A huge goalmouth scramble almost resulted in a third Weymouth goal, Lisa Youd's shot was blocked on the line and Corrine Parker saw her effort clawed onto the bar by Binmore. However from the resulting corner, Batchelor's kick was neatly volleyed home at the far post by Sharpe to complete her double. Still Totnes did not give up and they sought a consolation goal and, although a dipping effort from Brister was held by Carroll, they could not make an impression against a well drilled Weymouth defence in which Rogers impressed. Instead it was Weymouth who were to strike again in the dying minutes. Moments after Jenny Hastie had shot wide from a Turk cross, it was the speedy Turk who again raced clear on goal after beating the Totnes offside trap and, although her shot was saved by Binmore, Parker was on hand to slot home the loose ball and round off a great day for her club. Weymouth: Fliss Carroll, Carla Garth, Caroline Hill (sub Jenny Hastie 64mins), Jess Turk, Maxine Hodder, Natalie Batchelor, Kim Cheffey, Georgia Rogers, Naomi Smith (sub Corrine Parker 64mins), Rosie Sharpe, Lisa Youd. Totnes & Dartington: Kate Binmore, Vikki Michaelmore, Sammie Platts, Sarah Smith, Jenny Carter, Nicola Brister, Hayley Northeast, Laura Shearer, Holly Shearer, Kelsey Taylor, Justine Howarth.
