Newcastle Utd and OOH Lincoln battled out a goalless draw on Sunday which did neither team any favours in the Northern Division title race. Lincoln are now six points ahead at the top but second placed Sunderland - arguably the 'winners' on the day - now have five games in hand, with Newcastle a further four points adrift in third. The result was also a good one for Leicester City, who can still have a big say by winning their matches in hand. They kept up their challenge by winning 3-0 away to Manchester City, Rachel McArthur giving them a 20th minute lead which they took into the break. Natalie Reay added the second on the hour and Destiney Toussaint completed a good all round team performance with the final goal, fifteen minutes from time. Aston Villa moved into fifth place as they won 4-0 at Tranmere Rovers, who were unable to build on their midweek victory over Curzon Ashton. Kim Farrow was on target twice for Villa, along with Kelly Saggs and Emma Follis. Jen Osmond was on target twice, with Kelly Simms adding the other as Reading FC Women came away from Sheffield Wednesday with a 3-2 victory. Mel Sherwood replied for the home side, along with an own goal.
