With the transfer window just passing in the South East Combination, Gillingham have been busy adding seven players to their squad.
Sarah White, Laura Halfpenny and Kerry Scott have arrived from West Ham Utd whilst Georgie Tricker and Donna Kelynack join from Ipswich Town and Charlton Athletic respectively. The Gills have also had a real scoop by signing youngster Chloe Phillips from Charlton Athletic untill the end of the season.
Head Coach Ian Varley commented about her: "She (Chloe) has been with their Centre Of Excellence this season and Paul Mortimer feels she ready for the next step up, we are glad he feels that with our new coaching team we can help her. It is great to be building bridges with other local teams.
"We needed to freshen things up and push the current girls onto the next level and with these new girls coming in it makes everyone step up that extra gear to keep their place in the team."
However again they have not stopped there as they have managed to re-sign their previous striker Gina Payne, who has been away for the past year.
Director of Football Martin Andrews explained: "People in Kent have been knocking Gillingham Ladies for several seasons, but we have now brought in some really good players. The thing that pleases me the most is how the current squad have welcomed all players into the side and, watching them train, it's as if they have been here a long time. Times have changed this season at Gillingham and we are only looking forward, with the complement of our own Centre Of Excellence players coming through next season. Everyone on board this club is really excited."
