OOH Lincoln made sure of keeping up the pace at the top of the Northern Division, thanks to a 4-2 victory away to Preston North End. Amanda Barr and in-form Jodie Michalska each netted braces for the Lady Imps and Hannah Bailey struck twice in reply for Preston. Two sides saw their hopes stutter as they cancelled each other out, Manchester City and Newcastle Utd sharing a goalless draw which did neither any favours. Leicester City kept their hopes alive, thanks to a 2-0 win against Reading FC Women. Foxes captain Remi Allen guided her side to victory with both goals, opening the scoring with a 35-yard strike and adding the second midway through the second half from the penalty spot after Rachel McArthur - on loan from Leeds Carnegie - was brought down in the area. Curzon Ashton gained revenge for their defeat by Sheffield Wednesday the previous Sunday by winning the return fixture 6-1. Nicky McLeod was on target twice for Curzon along with Emma Lambourne, Amanda Goodwin, Catherine Beaver and Becky Lee, Tanya Rich grabbing a consolation for Wednesday. The two teams at the foot of the table came face to face and honours were even as Rotherham Utd and Tranmere Rovers battled out a 2-2 draw. Kerry Jones gave Rotherham a first half lead with a fine header and Kerry Longstone added a second after the break, before Tranmere fought back to earn themselves a valuable point through a Lindsey Smith penalty and a late equaliser from Sharon Simpson.
