OOH Lincoln held on to top spot in the Northern Division courtesy of a 3-0 victory over third placed Newcastle Utd. Leading scorer Jodie Michalska kept up her fine run of form by netting twice, with Sophie Barker also on target. Sunderland made sure of staying one point behind in second place, with three games in hand, after they scored six without reply against Reading FC Women. The Wearsiders inflicted most of the damage in the first half when they netted five times, Sophie Williams giving them the lead which was doubled by Kelly McDougall, before Jordan Nobbs, Williams and Demi Stokes further extended their lead. Abby Holmes rounded off the scoring with the sixth goal, early in the second half. Manchester City returned to winning ways with a 3-1 success at Sheffield Wednesday, who remain at the foot of the table. Krystle Johnston was on target twice for City, with Katie Brusell adding the third. Leicester City recorded their biggest victory of the season to date, 8-1 against Rotherham Utd to leave themselves in fifth place. Hannah Smith and Louise Fellows each netted braces and one apiece cane from Jade Radburn, Leah Rawle, Remi Allen and Courtney Sweetman-Kirk. with Helen Lynskey grabbing a consolation for Rotherham. Aston Villa returned to league action with a 2-1 win away to Curzon Ashton, putting a halt to the Lancashire side's recent revival thanks to goals from Kelly Clarke and Natalie Gibson.
