Bristol Academy are one step away from a sixth semi final appearance in nine years after they defeated Birmingham City on penalties.
Academy had gone into a two-goal lead during the first half with Kerry Bartlett netting twice, but Birmingham fought back after the break and Becky Hall, who had earlier rattled the bar, brought her side back into the game when she backheeled home following a corner.
Birmingham then took the game into extra time as Dannii Bird coolly converted a twice-taken penalty with two minutes remaining.
Extra time produced few chances and the shootout got off to the worst possible start for Academy when Justine Lorton shot wide from their first attempt.
However goalkeeper Rachel Simkin pulled off a stunning save when facing her third penalty from third and, after Bartlett had slotted home Academy's fifth kick, the unfortunate Kerys Harrop fired over to ensure that Bristol Academy will make the long trip to Sunderland in the last eight.
Chelsea were given a hard battle by Midland Combination opponents Derby County before progressing with a 2-0 victory.
The Blues clinched the win via a penalty in each half, both disputed by the home side, but both successfully converted by Lianne Sanderson. Chelsea will now take on OOH Lincoln in the quarter finals.
Blackburn Rovers came through their tough tie away to Millwall Lionesses with a 1-0 success, to earn themselves a quarter final tie against Everton. Rovers captain Natalie Preston settled matters with the only goal of the game on the hour mark.
Revised quarter finals draw:
Chelsea v OOH Lincoln
Arsenal v Leeds Carnegie
Blackburn Rovers v Everton
Sunderland v Bristol Academy
to be played on 22 February
