In the only Scottish Women's Premier League fixture to survive the weather, Spartans caught up further ground on leaders Celtic by running out 8-0 winners over Aberdeen. Danielle Pagliarulo gave Spartans the lead after seven minutes, before Diana Barry and Debbie McWhinnie each netted first half hat-tricks to send their side into the interval with a 7-0 lead. Kate MacGillvary rounded off the victory with the final goal, twenty minutes from time. This Sunday, attention is focused on the Second Round of the Unite Scottish Cup, the stage at which the SWPL clubs enter the competition for the first time. The tie of the round sees Cup holders Hibernian play host to FC Kilmarnock in the only all-Premier League clash. Champions Glasgow City take on Tynecastle whilst Celtic and Spartans face Dons Ladies and Cowdenbeath respectively. There is also the chance for some upsets; Division Two West table toppers Troon make the trip to Raith Rovers whilst Hamilton Academicals have an awkward tie against Buchan Girls and Forfar Farmington go to Musselburgh Windsor. Shetland will also be aiming to reach the Third Round stage for the first time in their history when they play away to Celtic B.
