Girls football at Sawtry Colts FC is going from strength to strength and this Sunday was testament to this when the girls of the Football Development Centre participated in their first assessment.
The girls all visit the five assessment stations, which tested the range of skills they have been working on over the past eight weeks.
Training sessions at the Development Centre are free because of generous sponsorship from Produce World in Yaxley.
In addition to the Development Centre, Sawtry Colts FC also have Under-10, 11, 12 and 13 girls teams in the S-Tech Cambridgeshire League this season and will also add Under-8 and Under-14 girls teams and a mixed Under-7 team for next season. This will allow Sawtry Colts to offer girls from 5-13 years old (school year 1-8), from the local area the possibility to take part in organised football for the 2009-10 season.
The club would welcome any girls aged 4-12 years old to come along to their training sessions to give football a try out. If you know any girls who would be interested in giving football a try you can contact Steve Purnell for more details on (07964) 496259 or e-mail steve.Purnell@sawtrycolts.org.
