Doncaster Rovers Belles are one step away from reaching the Premier League Cup Final for the first time since 1996 after they ran out 3-0 winners over Watford in their quarter final.
Two goals in a minute near the end of the first half from Emily Heckler and Vicky Exley put the Belles in the driving seat and they wrapped up the win midway through the second half with a goal from Rachel Williams.
Chelsea meanwhile swept into the semi finals for the first time when they defeated a battling WFC Fulham 3-0. Claire Rafferty opened the scoring for the Blues after 19 minutes but it wasn't until midway through the second half that they were able to go two goals ahead as substitute Katie Owen scored. Lianne Sanderson put the result beyond doubt in injury time.
Another team to be in the last four for the first time are Preston North End, who halted Portsmouth's recent good form with a 1-0 victory at Fareham. However Preston had to dig deep in order to keep the home side at bay, Pompey twice hitting the post and inflicting pressure but it was the Lancashire side who came up with the decisive goal, Gemma Watson scoring from Hannah Bailey's cross ten minutes into the second half.
The other quarter final tie between Leicester City and Arsenal was postponed and a new date is yet to be confirmed.
