Sunderland turned up the heat at the top of the Northern Division as they extended their lead to six points when beating Rotherham Utd 2-0. Demi Stokes put Sunderland ahead in the 20th minute but it wasn't until deep into the second half that they made the game safe when, shortly after Kelly McDougall had hit the bar, Gemma Wilson headed in a Steph Bannon free kick. The match between Newcastle Utd and OOH Lincoln was postponed, which allowed Aston Villa the chance to move into second place and they took the chance with a 6-2 victory away to Sheffield Wednesday. (scorers to follow) Manchester City complete the top three after they defeated Tranmere Rovers 3-0. Jade O'Connor gave City a first half lead, with Ellena Turner and Sarah Penney rounding off the win in the last fifteen minutes.
