Their unbeaten run, which saw the West Londoners pick up five wins and a draw in their opening sequence of fixtures, means they sat second in the League going into October. Dani's form also saw her rewarded with a place, for the first time, in the England squad for the two crucial Euro 2009 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Spain. Peter Hough, Chairman of the FA Tesco Women's Premier League, said: "It's been a fantastic start to the season for Danni and she really deserves this award. She doesn't turn 20 until the end of October and for a young girl has displayed a maturity beyond her years in a crucial area of the pitch for Chelsea. I'm sure she'll continue to develop as a player and go from strength to strength." The FA Tesco Women's Player of the Month Award is decided by nominations from clubs in the FA Tesco Women's Premier League and England coaching staff.
