Charlton Athletic have extended their lead at the top to three points despite being held to a 1-1 draw in their South London derby match against Crystal Palace.
After a goalless first half, Kimberley Dixson put Charlton in front with a 30-yard strike but Palace hit back to earn a point which takes them off the bottom of the table, levelling the scores when Sharna Longville powerfully headed home from a free kick.
Keynsham Town received a setback to their challenge as they were beaten 3-1 by Cardiff City. Sophie Ingle put the South Wales side in front and Charlotte Miller doubled their advantage before the break. Keynsham enjoyed their best spell of the game early in the second half but could not break down a determined Cardiff defence and, at the other end, a 20-yard volley from Ingle proved to be a killer strike. Hari Sabic scored a consolation goal for Keynsham in the dying minutes.
Barnet and West Ham Utd battled out a 1-1 draw - the fifth time the Hammers have shared the spoils in just eight games this season. Sam Pittuck gave the Hammers the lead before Stacey Sowden marked her first full appearance since returning from injury by grabbing the equaliser for Barnet.
East Anglian rivals Colchester Utd and Ipswich Town met for the first time at Premier League level and it was Ipswich who went away with the points as they won 1-0. Christy Turner netted the only goal of the game from a second half penalty.
