F.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Barnsley made it through to the First Round Qualifying with a 3-1 local derby victory over Sheffield FC.
Two goals from Rachel Petyt and one by Nicki Wilde set Gordon Calvert's side up to face another Yorkshire side in the form of Keighley.
Keighley Ladies were established in 2002 and have been members of the North East League ever since, always finishing in the top four. At present they play in Division One South. They reached this stage thanks to a 4-1 victory over Kirklees in the Preliminary Round, Kirsty Delaney scoring twice along with Suzanne Hill and Fatima Khatum.
The side is currenly jointly managed by Neil Farley and Andy Gaertner with Ian Eaton fulfilling the role of fitness/conditioner coach. Captained by Grace Holohan, who will be lining up this week against her former club Barnsley, Suzanne Hill has led the scoring charts for the past two seasons.
Keighley LFC have recently announced plans to expand and are hoping to have a reserve team and youth section by the start of the 2009-10 season.
The match takes place at Dorothy Hyman Stadium at Cudworth in Barnsley and the home side are set to go into the game as favourties, however Keighley are a very consistent side at the level below and took eventual League Champions Morley Spurs to extra time at the same stage last season, so they should not be underestimated.
