![]() After a summer of frustration with regards to acquiring new players, Director of Football Ryan Thomas stated that both Rose and Chelsea would add vital competition in key areas. He said: "We've missed out on a couple of targets who have opted to join Premier League clubs, so that in itself highlights the importance of us getting there sooner rather than later. Both Rose and Chelsea were players that we were keen to bring in from the start as they have the potential to play at that level and now that they're here, we're delighted to have them on board. I think that both will be real assets to the playing staff, and have scope for developing further, which they will do at this club." Chelsea joins from local rivals Truro City, where she spent most of her time in their strong reserve team side, but had also made many appearances in their Premier League side. As a versatile defender, she will add competition to places right across the back four. Rose joins on the back of helping Penzance gain promotion to the South West Combination and finished as the club's top scorer last season. As soon as she regains her fitness after a knee injury, she is expected to provide further attacking options in an area where reinforcements were greatly needed.
