UEFA has announced the official match schedule of next year's UEFA European Women's Championship final tournament taking place in Finland, from 23 August to 10 September 2009.
As announced previously, the final tournament will comprise twelve teams for the first time and the 25 matches will be played in four cities and five venues, namely the Olympic Stadium and the Helsinki Football Stadium in Helsinki, the Lahti Stadium in Lahti, the Tampere Stadium in Tampere and the Turku Stadium in Turku.
However, this week's announcement of the confirmed match schedule discloses the match distribution per stadium during the two-week tournament for European national women's teams.
The Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, as the biggest venue of the event, will host four group matches, including the three group matches of hosts Finland, one semi final and the final match.
The second stadium located in the Finnish capital, the Helsinki Football Stadium, will stage three group matches, one quarter final and the second semi final. The Turku Stadium will have four group matches and one quarter-final.
Finally, in the north, three group matches and one quarter final will each take place in the Lahti Stadium and in the Tampere Stadium.
The kick off times, currently provisional, will be confirmed following the draw for the Finals, which will take place on 18 November 2008, at the Finlandia Hall in Helsinki.
