South East Combination side Lewes are a team on the up, finishing an impressive debut season in the top half of the table after a campaign that saw them take points from all but eventual champions Ipswich Town and Welwyn Garden City.
Manager Jacquie Agnew puts their success down to a healthy balance between experienced and younger players, a solid club infrastructure, and an ambitious management team. Jacquie pays tribute to the solid backing that the ladies squad receives from Lewes FC, not least for the fantastic facilities at the Dripping Pan stadium that they share with the men's senior and youth squads.
Momentum is with Lewes and they are looking forward to 2008-09 when they are confident of mounting a serious title challenge. Agnew says she would like to strengthen the squad for next seasonm saying: "The core of the team is strong but we could do with three or more quality players to move the club forward".
Players interested in being part of Lewes can get in touch with Jacquie Agnew at www.lewesfc.com/ladies/contacts to discuss how together they may further progress the ladies team at Lewes.
