Everton narrow the gap
 Women's Football News 7 Apr 2008
Everton caught up ground on Arsenal with a 3-0 victory over Bristol Academy which makes it virtually certain they will finish in the top two.
Academy were playing their first game for six weeks but kept the scoreline goalless until shortly before half time, when Rachel Unitt drove home a shot from the edge of the area. After the break, Natasha Dowie dribbed past three defenders to score a fine individual goal and substitute Jill Scott burst through to round off the victory.
Everton now trail Arsenal by fourteen points, with three games in hand, and the teams are set to meet at Boreham Wood next Sunday.
One other game managed to beat the weather, Chelsea winning 1-0 away to Cardiff City who are now on the brink of relegation following this defeat. Eniola Aluko scored the only goal of the game in the fifth minute for Chelsea to boost their chances of a top half finish.
