Doncaster Rovers Belles climbed into fourth place, their highest of the season to date, after sharing a thrilling 3-3 draw with Birmingham City.
Former Blues midfielder Precious Hamilton gave the Belles a first half lead which was doubled by Carla Cantrell on the half hour, but Birmingham were back on level terms by the interval via a double from Maz Gauntlett. Laura Bassett then put the Blues in front from the penalty spot but Cantrell quickly replied to earn the Belles a share of the spoils. There was a dramatic end to the game as Birmingham hit the woodwork twice in injury time but the points virtually ensures their survival in the National Division.
However things are looking bleaker for Cardiff City as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at home to Watford, who recorded their first win in six matches. Emma Thomas put Watford in front on the stroke of half time and Emma Beckett scored in the dying minutes to earn them the points, despite Cardiff pulling a goal back deep into injury time through Nicola Cousins.
