Whitley Bay's teams took two titles on the same day on Sunday, as both their first team and reserves had wins over their closest rivals in their respective leagues.
Whitley's first team travelled to Spennymoor, knowing that a win over the second placed team would give them the North East League Division One North title. In a close game, they won 3-2 with goals from Kerry Davison, Laura Darmody and the winner form Kirsty Hunter with only five minutes left on the clock.
In the meantime, in the Northumberland County League, the Reserves were at home to Glendale, the only team left with a chance to catch them.
After going behind twice, Whitley rallied to win 4-2 with goals from Julie Smith, Brooke Wilkinson, Donna Brown and Janine Fagan. Both teams therefore maintained their 100% record and tok their Championships with games to spare.
Manager Colin Phillips was delighted at both results. "This is a great achievement by both teams," he said. "To win every match is tough, but both teams have won their Leagues in style and our aim is to win the rest of the games from now until the end of the season."
