Arsenal back to business
 Women's Football News 3 Mar 2008
Arsenal made sure there was no League Cup Final hangover by running out 4-0 winners over Leeds Utd to open up a seven point lead at the top of the National Division.
Rachel Yankey opened the scoring for the Gunners before Lianne Sanderson netted twice before half time. Julie Fleeting rounded off the scoring after the break to give Arsenal their 13th straight league win this season.
Everton continue to work their way up the table and moved into fourth, their highest position of the season to date, with a 4-0 victory away to Cardiff City. Goals from Toni Duggan and Natasha Dowie put the Toffees two ahead at the break, with Fara Williams and Dowie rounding off an excellent week for the club with further strikes in the second half.
Doncaster Rovers Belles follow on in fifth place after their second victory in a week, 4-0 against Charlton Athletic. The Belles struck three times in the opening fifteen minutes, Emily Heckler, Carla Cantrell and Vicky Exley all finding the net before Cantrell rounded off the victory with her second, during the second half.
There were more early goals at Watford where visitors Chelsea came away with a 3-2 win which keeps alive their hopes of a top four finish. Ellen White gave Chelsea an early lead which was cancelled out by Helen Lander, but Sophie Perry and a Kat McKenna own goal handed the Blues a two-goal advantage. Lander pulled a goal back during the second half but Chelsea held on for the win and, although they stay in eighth, they are only six points behind third placed Blackburn Rovers.
Liverpool bounced back from their midweek defeat to beat Birmingham City 1-0 and consolidate their position outside the bottom three. Kelly Jones headed home the only goal of the game for the Reds in the seventeenth minute.
