Mo Marley paid tribute to her Everton team which ended their nine-year trophy drought with a 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the Premier League Cup Final.
"It's the best feeling for the players," she said. "I am probably not the best person to work with as I demand high standards and I constantly moan, but I have said to them that all the stick I give them, and all the tough times, that is the way I work - to try and get the best out of players and that has happened today.
"I've had personal success myself and now I know how they are feeling, and it's nice to sit back and watch 18 players experience it."
Mo was full of praise for the way they defended their lead. "We've got one of the tighest defence in the league," she said," as well as, in my opinion, the two best goalkeepers. Danielle Hill has come in and been outstanding on a number of occasions for us, and she was tonight."
However Mo's joy was also tinged with relief. "The whole game felt like three days, especially from the moment we scored," she quipped, "You don't score agains Arsenal early and defend it for 80 minutes but the defending was top notch tonight and the players were working for each other.
"Quality is important, but a team ethic and hard work is fundamental to being successful."
