Four new major tournaments launched
 Women's Football News 14 Feb 2008
Team Tours Direct are proud to announce the launch of four new Women's and Girl's football tournaments in the UK.
In 2007, female teams from America, Canada, Isle of Man, Republic of Ireland and the home nations chose to attend Women's Open Age and Girl's events, making female football a major part of the TTD programme. This year will see a huge enhancement to the portfolio of female events operated with more teams and more nationalities. Entrants for 2008 already include Everton, Lincoln City, Newcastle United, Manchester City, Manchester United and Swansea City in addition to teams from England, Ireland, Wales, Canada and the USA. The unique concept of each advertised tournament is that the organisers own and manage each event, which means that from the moment you book and for the duration you are dealing with TTD. This makes TTD unique and one of the leaders in the UK event management business.
Joanne Moseley, the newly appointed Senior Women's Event Co-ordinator explained: "This is a very exciting time for female football and we aim to offer teams an excellent package that results in winning superb trophies and medals in all levels of competition, from the Challenge Cup to the Shield."
Former Combined Services Manager and Umbro International Cup Co-ordinator, Joanne, continued, "Team Tours Direct aim to provide a truly high calibre tournament experience with comprehensive medical cover, sports injury clinic, excellent on-site catering facilities, superb action
photography and a very good range of accommodation with transfers to the venues."
Further to this Joanne has been joined by Dave Plowright, in addition to a team of other experienced staff. Dave, a Level 3 Qualified Referee, takes on the role of the Women's Football Co-ordinator and brings with him his vast experience from running the Mansfield/Reebok Trophy and the Umbro
International Cup. Dave said, "This new concept will raise the standard of women's events in the UK through the combination of excellent fixture lists (minimum of four games) and a wide geographical spread of teams. The high level of refereeing and immaculate pitches at top of the range venues will
ensure great tournament football."
Team Tours Direct are clearly now established as the leading female tournament provider in the UK and are proud to have introduced the key staff to ensure the success of their events.
The tournaments will take place Easter Weekend (Manchester), May FA Women's Cup Weekend (Nottingham), July (Aberystywth) and July/August (Manchester). In order to be part of this exciting new venture, contact Joanne Moseley at info@womensfootballtournaments.com.
