The UK's largest girls and women's five-a-side football tournament will return to Nottingham for its 26th year on Sunday 4th May as part of Nottingham's Festival of Women's Football.
The historic Victoria Trophy, held by Nottingham Forest Ladies FC in partnership with Nottingham City Council, will take place with a special Bank Holiday fixture on Sunday 4th May, the day before the F.A.Women's Cup Final is held at Nottingham Forest's City Ground.
The Victoria Trophy is the largest one-day competition for women and girls of all ages, and will be held on the Victoria Embankment, near Nottingham's Trent Bridge.
The 2007 tournament was cancelled for the first time in its history after freak heavy rain led to severe weather warnings.
Forest Ladies club secretary Faye Glover said: "It's great to have the competition back this year.
"It was unfortunate that we had to miss out last year because of the weather - especially after our amazing 25th anniversary year in 2006.
"But this year will be all the more special because of that and we are looking forward to a fantastic day this May."
This year's age groups will be: Under 10s, Under 12s, Under 14s, Under 16s and an Open Age category. All games will be played on grass in the fantastic setting of the Victoria Embankment and is a great way to embrace football and welcome the FA Cup final to Nottingham.
As well as the matches, the festival of football will offer the chance to take part in soccer skills classes and other events, refreshments and entertainment.
