The Football Association of Wales will be organising a second reunion for former women's international players on Sunday 17th February 2008.
This will be held at Jenner Park, Barry to coincide with the UEFA Women's Championship Qualifier between Wales and Belgium that kicks off at 2.30pm.
The first such reunion was held last autumn at Rhyl when Wales played Switzerland in the same competition. All players who have been capped between 1973 to date are invited to contact the FAW to arrange for complimentary tickets to be sent to them.
FAW Match Press Officer and Historian, Ceri Stennett, who is organising the reunion, says: "We had a great turnout at Rhyl last year, with more than a dozen ex-internationals from the 1970s and 80s attending. We really hope that we can match that in Barry this time.
"We are trying to collect as much information as we can about the women's team from 1973-93 before it came under the control of the FAW and would be very pleased to hear from anyone who may have pictures, programmes or cuttings from matches played during that time. It will all help to document the work done by players such as Karen Jones, Michele Adams, Mai Griffith and Lesley Judd in the early days."
Former international goalkeeper, Karen Jones, who is now involved with the coaching of Cardiff City Ladies, has been able to track down many of her former team mates, but anyone who has any information is asked to contact Ceri Stennett at the Football Association of Wales. His e-mail address is: email@example.com or telephone: (02920) 435830.
