Lincoln City once more closed the gap on Northern Division leaders Nottingham Forest to a single point after they defeated Tranmere Rovers 3-0.
Carla Ward's glancing header brought the Lady Imps an eleventh minute lead but it wasn't until the last twenty minutes that Lincoln put the result beyond doubt. Jodie Snelson netted her 21st goal of the season to put them two ahead and Kerry Smith drove home the final goal in injury time.
Rotherham Utd leapt out of the relegation zone with a stunning 5-0 success away to Stockport County. Suzanne Davies put the Millers ahead two minutes before half time, with Caroline Wood and Davies increasing the lead early after the restart. Wood went on to complete her double and Gemma McCool scored the fifth in the later stages.
Crewe Alexandra won for the second successive week and are just one point from safety after their 2-1 victory over Preston North End. Sam Cadwallader gave Preston a first half lead but Crewe turned matters around for three precious points, thanks to two late goals from Nicky Gallimore and Kate Halle.
