West Midlands League Premier Division high flyers Coventry Copsewood have strengthened their playing squad by signing defender Marie Cartwright from Coventry City.
Marie, aged 23, had a season at Stratford Town during the 2005-06 campaign before returning back to Coventry City for a second spell. Having been with the Sky Blues for nearly ten years, Marie has progressed through the junior ranks where she started as an under-14. Although not yet fully fit,
Marie, who made her debut in Sunday's win at Coleshill Town, has been on manger Mick Connelly's shopping list for some time and is expected to be a quality signing for a team who have only conceded 17 goals during this season league and cup campaign.
Marie joins a list of former Coventry City players who have moved across the City in order to progress their playing career at Allard Way and with an important end of season run-in approaching, Copsewood face a tricky time over the next few weeks in their make or break season with some big games looming against Lichfield Diamonds and Shrewsbury Town, both of whom they have to play twice.
