Blackburn aim to end Reds hoodoo

Blackburn aim to end Reds hoodoo - 25 Jan 2008 - Women's Football NewsBlackburn Rovers manager Adam Lakeland will be looking to set the record straight this Sunday when his side host National Division rivals Liverpool in the Fifth Round of the FA Women's Cup.
Following a 1-1 draw back in October, Rovers suffered successive 3-2 defeats at home to the Reds in league and cup clashes a month later.
Lakeland believes that Liverpool will now go into the tie as favourites. He said: "Obviously we're happy to be at home and I feel that on our day we can beat anyone in this league, with the exception of Arsenal, so we can't complain with the draw.
"However, Liverpool have become our bogey team somewhat this season. In our three meetings to date, we've only taken one point off them in the league and were knocked out by them in the Premier League Cup.
"But I genuinely feel that we played the better football and arguably deserved to win all three games. Liverpool certainly had elements of luck in each game, but you have to give them credit, as they've beaten us twice and held us once.
"As a result, the pressure will be on them now, so for us it's a game we can go out and enjoy - and hopefully make amends for the disappointment we've had in the past."
