A prospective new attacker for England, Rebecca Angus, has had a call-up to join Hope Powell's senior international squad at their training camp in La Manga, Spain, in mid-January.
Rebecca is from Middlesbrough but plays in Norway. She has had a successful season as a striker with the Kolbotn IL club in Oslo, scoring 16 goals in 26 games. Her first goal came in her first league match when she came on after an hour and scored the final goal to make the score 3-1. Almost the same thing happened in the club's last match of the season in November, the Cup Final at the Bislett stadium, when she came on after an hour and brought the final score to 4-2. Rebecca and her teammates collected their trophies from the King of Norway.
In a statement giving the news about her selection this week, the club said on its web site, "we wish Becky good luck and continued success at Kolbotn."
Kolbotn beat FFC Frankfurt to reach the semi finals of the UEFA Women's Cup last season, but were then beaten by the eventual runners-up, Umeň.
Becky was called up to the England Under-23s for the first time in November, and after the latest news she said: "I only found out yesterday and am surprised at how fast this has all happened."
