Curzon Ashton have appointed a new chairman and secured a sponsorship deal to further the club's ambitions.
The first team are currently leading the Northern Combination, sporting a 100% record.
Kirk Robertson, managing director of Cheshire based Sportswear International has been appointed Chairman to act as a figurehead to co-ordinate the various committee and club members with a view to press forward plans for the club's future profile and development.
Kirk said: "I hope to focus the entire club effort to create a more desirable environment in which to play and train, as well as motivating our girls and ladies to develop both as players and individuals. I am constantly amazed at the time, effort and commitment put in by our unpaid managers and coaches, so with these resources and our current facilities, I can see no reason why this club cannot go on to compete at the very highest level."
Sportswear International, based in Runcorn, has donated a mixture of their own and Nike products to give the club a boost. The ladies squad has received 30 full outfits for home matches and 17 complete strips for away fixtures, together with 30 full training sets comprising of polo shirts, training shirts, sweats, shorts and track pants.
On hand to launch the new sponsorship deal was Manchester United legend Jack Crompton, now aged 86, who is one of the oldest surviving United players and has been appointed Curzon Ashton Club president. Jack was goalkeeper at Old Trafford from 1944 to 1956 and helped them win the FA Cup in 1948 and the League Championship in 1952, carrying on as a coach until 1981, when he became interim manager between the dismissal of Dave Sexton and the appointment of Ron Atkinson.
