Arsenal close in on leaders
 Women's Football News 13 Nov 2007
Champions Arsenal are closing in on the leading sides after scoring nine without reply against Cardiff City.
Lianne Sanderson led the scoring with a hat-trick for the Gunners who netted six first half goals. Faye White added a double and there was a goal apiece from Alex Scott, Katie Chapman, Jayne Ludlow and Gemma Davison.
Everton are also starting to move up the table and they defeated second placed Watford 3-0. Michelle Evans gave them an eighth minute lead and the Toffees wrapped up the points with second half goals from Natasha Dowie and Emily Westwood.
Chelsea are starting to run into form as they inflicted a first defeat of the season on Leeds Utd. A closely fought game was settled by the only goal from Emma Whitter, nine minutes before half time.
Doncaster Rovers Belles moved out of the bottom two places, thanks to a 3-0 victory at Liverpool. All three goals came in the ten minute period before half time, Liz Hanson opening the scoring for the Belles with the others coming from Precious Hamilton and Carla Cantrell.
