Hope Powell has name a 20-player squad to take on Spain in their final match of 2007, with three crucial Euro 2009 qualifying points at stake at Shrewsbury Town.
The match will be the third qualifier in England's campaign to make it to Finland in two years' time, following their 4-0 triumphs over Northern Ireland and Belarus.
The one change to the squad from the last encounter at Walsall sees the return of Carly Telford following the retirement of Vicky Exley.
England last played Spain in 2001, when two of the current England squad were on the scoresheet; Sue Smith scoring a hat-trick and Kelly Smith the other goal in a 4-2 victory at Luton Town's Kenilworth Road.
Spain are currently ranked 20th in the world and despite some impressive performances at youth international level - they won the UEFA Under-19 Championship in 2004 - they haven't yet transferred that promise at senior level.
Spain secured a 3-0 away victory in their first Euro 2009 qualifier against Belarus, before earning a hard-fought draw away to Czech Republic in October. Those performances will ensure England guard against any complacency, whilst the current crop of Spanish Under-19s recently demonstrated their prowess, scoring 26 goals and conceding none in three games, including a 0-0 draw against England.
