Women's Football News
The Priory School, a Specialist Sports College in Orpington, Kent, have recently agreed a development programme with Crystal Palace Ladies FC that will see the Specialist Sport College creating a direct feed into senior women's football.
The key aims of the collaboration will be to provide a strong educational curriculum for year 12 & 13 students as well as a vibrant football development programme consisting of a comprehensive coaching and playing timetable.
This new program will run from September 2008 and the school will be accepting applications during October/November for trials during December. Successful applicants can expect to be given a choice of BTEC and NVQ courses that will be incorporated into a syllabus of daily fitness, training, tactical coaching and competitive weekday matches.
In addition, participants will enjoy a natural migration pathway towards the Crystal Palace Ladies senior teams.
Crystal Palace Ladies runs two senior teams that compete in the Premier League, positioning them as one of the top 30 teams in the country. The Club has recently moved its development base to the Priory School, where they will train twice a week. In addition to the senior set up, Crystal Palace Ladies have a vibrant junior section attracting over 75 girls from 9-15 years old.
