Scotland 0 Denmark 1
Scotland went down to a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Denmark on Wednesday night at McDiarmid Park.
Scotland defended well with Gemma Fay on form and Pauline Hamill had a very close chance of goal in the 42nd minute but at half time the scoreline was 0-0.
The second half saw Scotland fighting hard with strength and pace and Scotland players Julie Fleeting, Kim Little and Rhonda Jones played particulary well with Kim Little gaining 'Player of the Match'.
However it was not Scotland's night as Merete Pederson scored in the 62nd minute and despite a few chances by Scotland the scoreline ended in favour of Denmark.
Scotland currently sit joint third in Group 5 with Slovakia, behind Ukraine and Denmark and in front of Portugal.
Despite Scotland's defeat the match marked Scotland players, Rhonda Jones' and Julie Fleeting's 50th and 100th international appearance for Scotland respectively and Scottish FA Chief Executive Gordon Smith presented them both with gifts on behalf of the Scottish FA.
Julie Fleeting now has 100 goals and 100 caps, which will be recognised at Hampden on November 17th at the Scotland v Italy match, where she will be presented with a special award for her achievements from the Scottish FA. (www.scottishfa.co.uk)
