Young players dazzle in Girls' School trials
 Women's Football News 31 Oct 2007
This year's Essex County Schools Girls trials have been classed as a huge success, with over 185 girls trialling for the Under-14 and Under-16 squads which have now been announced.
Held at Marconi's Leisure's first class facilities in West Hanningfield, the Trials Day gave girls the opportunity to play small-sided games all morning and afternoon, with the best 22 being included in an eleven-a-side match for the Under-16 age group.
Thanks have been offered to all the volunteers and staff from Essex County FA who helped out on the day, with Representative Manager, Emma Wake, saying it was tough going for the players, parents and staff: "The football on display was exceptional, making it difficult for the Assessors to select their final sixteen.
"The day went really well thanks to us having such a fantastic venue that enabled all the girls to be playing at once. We're hoping that both squads continue to perform as well as they have done over the last couple of seasons. Many thanks to everyone who helped out on the day and all the teachers and clubs who sent their talented players to the trials to ensure the day such a great success."
A meeting was held at the end of both trials to decide which girls had been successful. The following players have been asked to attend a training session to decide who the final sixteen will be to represent the Essex County F.A. for this season:
