Slovakia 0 Scotland 3
Super striker Julie Fleeting scored her 100th goal for her country as Scotland swept to a fine victory over Slovakia at NTC Senec.
Scotland got off to the best possible start with a goal in the second minute from Michelle Kerr and Pauline Hamill doubled their advantage on the quarter hour.
Going into the second half two goals ahead gave Scotland the confidence they needed to create many chances and after good attacking play, captain Julie Fleeting wrapped up the win with the third - her 100th goal for Scotland.
The result lifts Scotland into second place in Group Five and puts them in good heart ahead of their next qualifier, against Denmark at McDiarmid Park on Wednesday night.
Scotland coach Anna Signeul told www.scottishfa.co.uk after the game: "We are delighted with the scoreline, we played really good football and created many chances and scored three great goals. Slovakia is a good team, they are strong and physical, they had some great opportunities but Gemma Fay was very confident in goal and the whole team put in 100%."
After the match, Fleeting was presented with a pair of golden boots by her boot sponsor, Nomis. The Scottish FA have plans of their own to commemorate this momentous achievement with a presentation at the Scotland v Italy match on 17 November at Hampden.
The match against Denmark is another milestone for Julie Fleeting, as it will be her 100th international appearance. To commemorate her achievement there will be a special presentation prior to the match by Scottish FA Chief Executive Gordon Smith.
